Job Description

The Ford Agency is spearheading a search for a Regulatory Affairs Associate to join a DC scientific consulting firm. This individual will be tasked with developing a regulatory strategy for clients in the scientific community, monitoring legislation and regulations, drafting policy positions, and responding to client inquiries. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, deadline-driven and action-oriented. This individual communicates closely with industry leaders and builds coalitions with members both nationally and at the state level. If you have a scientific educational background and at least 3 years of regulatory experience dealing with food science or agricultural science and are looking to bring your unique skillset to a team of professionals committed to providing exceptional service to their clients, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement a regulatory and government affairs strategy in collaboration with leadership team
  • Track and summarize regulations that will impact clients
  • Represent clients in the science field at relevant meetings, regulatory agencies, conferences and scientific community
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely and thorough manner
  • Organize content for webinars, conferences, and other educational events
  • Draft policy positions, draft comments for proposed regulations
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Political Science, Public Policy/Health or related field
  • 3+ years of regulatory experience with a government agency, trade association, or nonprofit
  • Direct regulatory experience in food science or agriculture science
  • Professional writing and verbal communication skills
  • Project Management experience preferred

Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
